It’s wintertime!! Time to bundle up and play in the snow!! Make snow angels, a snowman, build a snow fort, and go sledding.
Time to bundle up the four-legged members of our family also. The little ones especially get cold. Whether there is snow on the ground or it is just cold out, it’s a good idea to protect them from the cold while they’re out. I noticed a lot of differences in the jackets and coats for dogs, like the thickness and materials they were made from. Some had zippers while others closed with snaps or just pulled over their heads like a shirt.

For something a little lighter and sporty that also gives the legs some coverage, you could go with a dog sweatsuit like this one here.
Or this one.
For a thicker and heavier coat, there are a lot of options.
One I like is the Kurgo Loft Dog Jacket. This one is reversible so it can show one of two solid colors or some of them have a solid color on one side and a pattern on the other. It has reflective piping and is adjustable. It is water-resistant and lightweight. It keeps the dog warm while not overheating the dog and fits the dog so they have freedom of movement. One aspect I really like about this coat is the access on the back to hook to a collar or harness. Make sure to measure and check the size chart so you get the right size.
The Kurgo Fleece Sweater works with the Kurgo Dog Jacket. They can wear the sweater under the coat for an extra layer on those bitter cold days, or without the coat. The sweater has zipper openings for access to their harness or collar.
This Kuoser Kozy Waterproof Windproof Jacket is reversible with one side being plaid and the other, a solid color. It has velcro closures around the neck and chest areas to hold it on. Quick and easy on and off for being out for a few minutes.
This Vecomfy Fleece Collar Dog Coat has velcro closures at the neck and under the chest but this one also has elastic around the chest. It is reversible and has a little zipper access so it can be used with a harness. It also has a little pocket to hold an unused poo bag or two.
If you like the idea of a zipper on their back instead of underneath, the Gooby Padded Vest Dog Jacket could work for you. It looks like a cute, little puffy coat and is machine washable. It is water-resistant and lightweight but keeps your dog warm with a fleece lining. It has two small D rings on the back so you can hook a leash onto it and comes in seven color variations. There is a zipper guard to help keep the dog’s fur from getting caught in the zipper.
As with all the dog coats, make sure you measure your dog.
There are many dog coats out there to choose from. These are some of the best ones I have tried and my dog seems to be happy with them too. If these are not to your liking, you can find some others here.
